Sounds like you were the supervisor and planner. You think it'll be done by the cold season??? What's you new project, if you don't mind me asking???

A kids playground with all the gear/jungle gym. And also all of landscaping for the park within the condo corp grounds.
All done now, and everyone is back at this building again.

yes the digging part is all done now. So they have started to lower the building but got stalled when another project needed to be done. they asked me to go back to work on the building but I can't commit to it as I still am trucking and waiting for a call for the other job. I was unable to five them a timeline on when I could work. they will find a way to get it completed.

Sounds like you're a resourceful man to have around. Sounds like it is taking up much of your time too. When do you expect to have it done again???
Other than digging how goes the rest of the family??? Is work keeping you busy??? Isn't it about vacation time too???
Things have been busy here too. Over loaded with a Chemistry course and an instructor that is usually MIA. Then he half wittedly answers questions days later, and I end up working on that class for 5 days out of the week; the other two are for Statistics which I really enjoy. We have a good interactive professor there.
Don't want to keep you too long, I best let you go back to digging.

How come it has recently started to heave and not earlier??? Perhaps the building has settled and the results were a lowering of the foundation, it has taken until now that the frost heaves have started to affect it. How old is the building???
So you have built a ground thawing machine, there was no such thing before you little invention. What did you do to create it??? I like learning how things are made and work.
Keep the gang and yourself safe.

well I didn't invent it....i just made one. It is a boiler with attached hoses 700 feet long that you place on the ground and cover the hoses with insulated tarps. The heat from the hoses is transfered to the ground and it thaws it. The frost here this year was almost 5 feet thick. I can get 3 feet after 3 days on the initial dig, and then can get 12 to 18 inches each day afterwards. I built the system in a trailer that was used for blowing in insulation at one time. It is self contained including fuel tank but not power.

The building has been heaving for years. When they originally tried to fix it they installed Thermo-siphons and placed crush on top of the pipes but that crush expanded and heaved against the cross braces and made the problem worse.
